Asbestos Inspector – Refresher

This EPA/State of Michigan course is required for all asbestos management planners on an annual basis to maintain their certification.

This half-day course refreshes attendees on the fundamentals of performing asbestos inspections within public, commercial and school buildings through topics that include historic uses of asbestos, health effects, types of asbestos materials, location of asbestos materials in buildings, proper sampling methods, and required documentation and report creation standards.

Additionally, this course will assist inspectors in keeping up with the current changes within the industry and new requirements and interpretations from federal or state regulations. Upon completion of this course, attendees will submit certificates and fees to the State of Michigan to continue their State/EPA certification as asbestos inspectors.

PLEASE NOTE: Michigan OSHA regulations and Federal EPA regulations require that any individual who engages in the testing of materials to determine asbestos content must annually maintain accreditation as an asbestos inspector. While the required applications and exam are provided during the training course, the fees for this licensing are not included in the cost of the training course. Other states may not accept virtual training. Please verify with states other than Michigan before registering that they accept virtual training.
