Our Culture of Safety

Leading the Way with Exceptional Safety Standards

Our dedication to maintaining a safe work environment is reflected in our impressive DART (Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred) rate. In 2022, with a growing team of 62 professionals, we achieved a DART rate of 1.77, setting a new precedent in safety performance. This figure is not just a number—it's a clear indicator of our proactive safety measures and our commitment to going above and beyond the industry standard of 3 for construction-related fields.

This achievement is a direct result of our team's collective effort to prioritize safety in every task they perform. At ETC, we don't just comply with safety regulations—we aim to define them, ensuring that each team member can return home safely every day.

Learning from Near Misses

We believe that every incident, or near miss, is an opportunity to learn and improve. From tripping over vacuum cords to the more severe, such as vehicular accidents or minor cuts, we meticulously document and review each event. Our ‘near miss’ and accident report system feeds into our monthly Safety Meetings where we discuss, dissect, and develop new strategies to prevent future occurrences. These meetings are vital, keeping safety at the forefront of our daily operations.

Equipped for Safety

Our team is out in the field, often working independently, and their safety is paramount. We ensure that all staff are equipped with essential safety gear—car jump starters, air compressors, hand sanitizers, masks, and first aid kits are standard issue. This ensures that they can respond to both personal safety needs and public health guidelines promptly and effectively.

ETC prides itself on a culture of excellence and compliance. With the majority of our team certified in OSHA 10-hour training, active membership with AIHA, and lifesaving skills in CPR, First Aid, and AED, we set the standard. Our lab's commitment to safety is reinforced by rigorous general certification practices, ensuring the highest levels of accredited safety in every facet of our operations.
