Scope of Work :
Environmental Testing & Consulting (ETC) partnered with the Emerging Industries Training Institute (EITI) to deliver comprehensive asbestos and lead certification training programs across Michigan and through virtual platforms. Over multiple years, ETC supported workforce development initiatives by providing EPA- and HUD-aligned training to hundreds of participants entering or advancing within environmental and construction-related fields.

ETC served as EITI’s primary environmental training provider, delivering a full range of initial and refresher certification courses aligned with federal and state regulatory requirements. Courses followed EPA model curricula and State of Michigan licensing standards.

- Lead-Based Paint Inspector & Risk Assessor

Instructional Approach
These intensive 2–5 day courses were designed to prepare students for rigorous certification exams while supporting learners with diverse educational backgrounds. ETC instructors combined structured classroom instruction with hands-on activities, real-world scenarios, and daily knowledge reinforcement.
Training delivery emphasized retention and comprehension through:
- Hands-on demonstrations and applied learning exercises
- Daily practice quizzes and knowledge checks
- Structured recaps of prior material at the start of each day
- Preparation for third-party certification exams required for licensure
