The Lead Supervisor Course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the required and recommended standards related to lead-based paint, including lead inspection and risk assessment, lead abatement, and worker safety. The course also covers critical regulations related to OSHA/MIOSHA responsibilities, waste disposal, liabilities, insurances, and bidding, as well as hazard controls and the 2012 HUD guidelines.

- Developing options for lead hazard control plans
- Lead hazard control categories
- Personal protection, exposure protection, and job site safety checklists
- Cleaning, lead supervisor responsibilities, and documentation
- Bid specifications, scope of work, and lead waste information
The course also includes examples of lead inspection and risk assessment reports, as well as Michigan-specific regulations. Students will participate in exercises covering:
- Michigan Lead Hazard Control Rules
- MIOSHA Part 603
- Exterior abatement
- Zipstrip SDS
By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to manage lead abatement projects, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and HUD guidelines.
